A sunrise ride, a post-work session, or an outing to explore the countryside: the ABUS Taipan gravel helmet offers the flexibility needed to enjoy every route to the fullest.

The helmet features a front glasses holder, allowing you to store them securely and aerodynamically while riding. The magnetic and rechargeable rear light increases visibility, while the washable padding ensures practicality and comfort even after numerous rides.

Steep climbs, interval training on gravel, and workouts seeking maximum performance: the ABUS Taipan LED Helmet is designed to tackle the most demanding sporting challenges.

The reduced weight, aerodynamic Flow Straps™, 18 ventilation openings, and the innovative cooling airflow system promote effective ventilation and high comfort during the ride.

The ventilation openings are connected through special internal channels that guide air inside the helmet, promoting air circulation and helping to maintain a pleasant head climate.

Gravel is also about the pleasure of rediscovering your favorite trails, exploring the countryside for hours, and sharing new adventures with friends. To fully enjoy every kilometer, a precise and comfortable fit is essential.

The inner shape of the Taipan is subtly widened and offers space for thicker padding. The Zoom™ Spin adjustment system allows for individual helmet adjustment to the head circumference via the practical dial at the back of the neck.

The integrated opening in the adjustment system also allows the helmet to be used with long hairstyles such as ponytails, buns, or braids.

The floating padding, attached at several points inside the helmet, offers greater mobility and helps improve ventilation and comfort during use.

Increased visibility thanks to the rear LED light

Safety and visibility are fundamental elements during bike rides, especially in low-light conditions.

The ABUS Taipan LED Helmet integrates a magnetic and rechargeable rear light, which easily attaches to the back of the helmet via magnets. The light can be recharged via USB-C cable and has four different lighting modes:

• Steady
• Power
• Pulse
• Flash

The different modes can be selected based on lighting and weather conditions.

Battery life varies depending on weather conditions and type of use: the light guarantees a duration of at least 4.3 hours in Power mode and at least 35 hours in Flash mode.

The time required for a full battery charge is approximately 1.5 hours.

The light is also certified with an IP44 protection rating, which certifies protection against solid foreign objects larger than 1 mm and against water splashes for electronic products, such as lamps.

To complete the visibility features, we also find a reflective sticker, designed to improve visibility in the dark.

• Bottom edge protection: the external polycarbonate (PC) shell covers the bottom edge of the helmet and protects against scratches, impacts, and signs of wear.
• Ponytail opening: thanks to the recess in the height-adjustable adjustment system, the helmet is also suitable for long hairstyles such as ponytails, buns, or braids.
• Front glasses holder: defined recess on the front of the helmet to position glasses in a secure and aerodynamic position while riding.
• Acti Cage™: allows wider ventilation openings with simultaneous high stability thanks to structural foam reinforcement.

• Cooling airflow system: ventilation openings are connected via internal channels to direct incoming air through the helmet, ensuring maximum air circulation and a pleasant head climate.
• Magnetic and rechargeable rear light: attaches to the back of the helmet via magnets and ensures greater visibility. Can be recharged with a USB-C cable.
• IP44: protection class that certifies protection against solid foreign objects larger than 1 mm and against water splashes for electronic products, such as lamps.
• Four rear light modes: Steady, Power, Pulse, and Flash, selectable based on lighting and weather conditions.
• Light operating time: depending on atmospheric conditions and type of use, the light's duration in Power mode is at least 4.3 hours and in Flash mode at least 35 hours.
• Light charging time: approximately 1.5 hours to reach full battery charge.
• Zoom™ Spin adjustment system: knob at the back of the neck for individual helmet adjustment according to head circumference.
• Flow Straps™: aerodynamic straps designed to ensure low airflow resistance, less noise, and high wearing comfort.
• Floating padding: the helmet's internal padding, which attaches at several fastening points, makes it more mobile and offers better ventilation and greater wearing comfort.
• Snap buckle: for safe and practical use, the straps are equipped with a classic snap buckle with a trident connection for opening and closing.
• In-Mold process: a manufacturing process in which the internal expanded polystyrene (EPS) shock-absorbing material is foamed directly into the external polycarbonate (PC) shell, thus creating a durable and robust connection.
