- "Aerodynamics is everything" is the motto they have adopted for years and it is also the one that characterizes the design of the Tarmac. For the tubes that create the fastest and always UCI compliant frame they drew inspiration from the Venge and the collection of optimized profiles 'FreeFoil Shape Library'. They went back to the wind tunnel to create a modular test bike with these profiles. The result is the new Tarmac, the fastest yet. Uncompromising, pure speed.
- In the process of creating the new Tarmac, as with all road racing bikes, weight was another discriminating factor. Previously aero bikes paid a premium in terms of weight - the more you reduce drag, the more weight you add. With the Tarmac, the design philosophy was to keep it, as standard, at the UCI limit or just below. With the FreeFoil Shape Library, tools like FEA analysis and some high-level engineering 'gotchas' they have succeeded.
- Always with the aim of developing the best bike for road racing, they used Rider-First Engineered™ technology to ensure the Tarmac was balanced and easy to handle in every frame size. Thanks to the feedback received from the athletes of the three professional teams SD Worx, Deceuninck-Quick-Step, and Bora-Hansgrohe, they have made changes to the Tarmac. A new balance in ride quality between the front and rear ends, so that even long days in the saddle are more comfortable, without compromising the Tarmac's legendary handling and responsiveness.
- The experience of creating the Venge also helped them create a clean and fast 'cockpit'. Cable routing has been improved for any setup - mechanical shifting, traditional stem, round profile bars, etc. - while maintaining aerodynamics. The same characteristics that make the Tarmac easy to use and practical when travelling.
