Specialized S-Works Recon Shoes

The new S-Works Recon introduces performance to the world of mountain biking that only a road shoe can offer. Thanks to more than 100,000 foot scans extrapolated from RETÜL data, Specialized goes further by inserting a wider carbon sole to better fit all shapes of the human foot. An internal sole adds rigidity and resistance, avoiding additional reinforcements. The result is a shoe with a comfortable, adjustable but also rigid fit capable of unloading all the power on the pedals.

Both inside and out, the S-Works Recon is crafted following the principles of Body Geometry. Thanks to almost twenty years of development and data analysis, this shoe has no weaknesses, only high performance when you pedal. Thanks to the varus thickness, the longitudinal arch and the metatarsal button, the foot will be able to stay in the optimal position during your ride while remaining aligned with your knees and hips.

The high-density base and new thicknesses allow you to adjust the contact with the pedal to obtain maximum efficiency and road pedaling.

The asymmetric heel cup supports the medial side and allows the removal of material from the lateral area, allowing for a lower collar.
The use of an insole adds rigidity and strength, eliminating the need for additional reinforcements and allowing the shoe to remain extremely lightweight.
Zoned reinforcement on the quarter and forefoot maximizes support, while the new BOA® passage improves lockdown, eliminating the need for a toe closure.
Additional shims of 3 mm, 6 mm and 9 mm are available as replacements to compensate for the length of the legs and for the cleats.
For a wider fit - the new outsole is 4mm wider than the standard width (8mm wider than previous S-Works Recon shoes).
