The new generation of PZERO Race TLR is the best performing tire in the Pirelli portfolio, as well as being the first tire with tubeless technology entirely made in Italy in the new Bollate factory. The introduction of the new SPEEDCORE technology in the 120tpi casing involves the use of a mixed aramid compound that lines the internal layer of the tyre, improving both the smoothness and resistance of the rubber. Result: a less rigid but faster tire. The compound instead maintains the same advanced SmartEVO technology, shared with the other tires in the high-performance PZERO range.
Compound : The new SmartEVO Compound uses a compound of 3 different polymers, each of which provides performance in a perfect balance of opposite characteristics, such as grip and smoothness. The ternary blend of polymers with "intelligent" behavior characteristics as the basis of the exceptional properties of the SmartEvo compound, allows better grip on dry and wet surfaces, while improving rolling resistance. SmartEVO Compound is a high-performance compound fine-tuned for the most modern cycling disciplines, from local or World Tour racing, to epic adventures where the climate and road surfaces require tires that excel in all circumstances.
Structure: SpeedCORE™ is a tubeless-ready structure developed by Pirelli (Patent pending) for high-performance cycling tires, representing Pirelli's most advanced TLR technology to date. The SpeedCORE™ construction consists of a thin, waterproof layer of rubber blend infused with aramid particles. This layer covers the internal part of the tire and thanks to the presence of aramid in the rubber mixture, it allows for better mechanical resistance, improved air retention and greater overall flexibility: all of which contributes to the overall performance of the tyre.
