SmartNET Silica compound : Directly from its experience and know-how in Motorsport, Pirelli introduces a patented racing formulation to cycling, capable of guaranteeing maximum grip and smoothness on dry and wet surfaces. The elongated shape of the silica molecules, unlike what has been done so far with the common spherical molecular shaped silica, allows a new level of sophistication of the tread compound, with a consequent improvement in driveability thanks to the possibility of orienting the compound in the direction of rolling. Furthermore, the improvement of the mechanical resistance of the tread achieved by the improved interaction of Silica with other components (such as the aramid fibers directly dispersed in the compound), increases the protection against punctures and the life of the tyre.
Armor Tech structure : Patent derived from Motorsport experience, where Pirelli's ability to sophisticate the compounds is expressed this time for protection against punctures thanks to anti-puncture Kevlar fibrils shredded directly into the base compound which incorporate any object into a viscous network penetrates the tread, making its penetration capabilities less and less effective as intruders sink into the tread. A layer of bead-to-bead square fabric works with levels of protective effectiveness never achieved before, making it probably the most effective puncture protection system in the panorama of road racing bike tyres. The 60tpi tubeless-ready casing specific for Road Endurance use is therefore an exclusive Pirelli patent which combines a super-reinforced casing and the use of special chemical components for absolute resistance against punctures. Tubeless-ready technology adds flexibility and speed to a casing with unique characteristics in its category.
