This versatile carbon road wheel is ideal for racers looking for the perfect balance of weight, aerodynamics and efficiency. The new spokes and hubs give the Cosmic SL 40 a feeling of lightness and liveliness for climbs and accelerations.
The rim is designed with a 64mm deep and 26mm wide NACA profile, designed specifically for full performance on flat or hilly terrain. The new rim groove shape makes fitting tubeless and inner tube tires as easy as possible. UST Tubeless riding implies no air chamber, no friction and more air volume for a smoother ride. The result is faster pedaling with ultra-low rolling resistance.
Refined spokes make this wheelset 80g lighter than the previous version, the Cosmic Pro Carbon UST. Combined with our brand new Infinity hubs, for a feeling of speed and responsiveness on every corner, they are stiffer and more efficient.
The Cosmic SL 40 is designed specifically for rim brakes. Our proven iTgMax technology features a patented laser treatment of the braking surface that shortens the braking distance in both dry and wet conditions, while a special structure and heat treatment make it the strongest and most durable of all carbon rims for rim brakes. They are available for Shimano cassettes and convert to the Campagnolo and SRAM XD-R system with optional drivetrain bodies.
These wheels are designed, engineered and patented by Mavic in Annecy, France, and are 100% handmade in our European carbon factory.
