The Maxxis Assegai cover is named after the iron-tipped spear used by the Zulu people of South Africa. Greg Minnaar, three-time World Downhill Champion and native of South Africa, thought it was an appropriate name for a tire ready to fight on the mountain. High caps attack the
dust and dirt for traction, but also offer support and security on wet roots and rocks. While other covers only excel in certain areas
conditions, the new Assegai is built to go fast everywhere.
