DOT 5.1™
Heat is the enemy of any braking system. Better heat management will also make your ride much safer. SRAM has discovered that DOT 5.1 takes three times longer to reach boiling point than DOT 4. This ensures smooth, never-diminishing braking power even under the most extreme conditions.
Double Tap
What is DoubleTap? DoubleTap® is SRAM's key technology that replaces traditional technology. The combination of a brake lever and a shift lever has not proven itself well. SRAM RED, SRAM Force, SRAM Rival and SRAM Apex have a brake lever that brakes and a shift lever that shifts.
The advantages of DoubleTap®: With DoubleTap® you change faster and easier. There is only one direction of movement. To go up, a short tap is enough. To shift down a gear, just push the lever further down.
How DoubleTap Works: The ingenious thing about DoubleTap® technology is the constant direction of movement of the shift lever. With a short, quick tap, the transport pawl moves the ratchet wheel up through the change range. For a lower gear, the lever is moved a greater distance. In the process, the retaining and transport pawls jump over each other quickly and cleanly.
Free choice of grip position: The almost linear direction of movement of the DoubleTap® levers offers another advantage. The gear lever can be operated from almost any grip position. Unique is the fact that the shift lever can be pulled towards the handlebars like a pistol trigger! You can upshift in a sprint without releasing your grip on the handlebars.

Thanks to the longer brake levers, the independent grip width adjustment for the brake and shift levers and the optimized shape of the lever, the levers are comfortable and easy to reach even for riders of different sizes.
