In 2013 Q36.5 presented a family of “seamless” underwear products that uses Karl Mayer sewing machines to express the advantages of seamless garment technology to the maximum degree. With the Underwear project, Q36.5 expands its range of products in the collection and returns to more "traditional" production techniques (TR1 and TR2 machines, flat seams), inspired by the technical possibilities discovered thanks to experiments with new microfilaments and the “needle waste” technique. The result is a soft underwear shirt with an uncommonly high density, which gives a sensation similar to cotton and - nevertheless - tips the scales at no more than 51 g. The difference, as with all minimalist performance clothing, is the expert calibration of functional details: in this case the double-faced fabric has an internal layer of polypropylene and an external layer of polyamide-polypropylene.
