The sophisticated ARC 1400 Dicut wheels represent the latest 1400 level DNA from DT Swiss. Available as a disc brake version in three different rim heights (80 mm, 62 mm and 50 mm), the AERO+ profile rims set a new standard in aerodynamic performance and maintain the lowest possible aerodynamic drag under different crosswind angles. In moderate crosswind conditions, cyclists benefit from propulsion through a sail effect. Reduced wind sensitivity allows cyclists to maintain a stable aerodynamic position and full control of their bike. High-end DT Swiss aero spokes and the lightweight 240 DICUT hub with its reliable Ratchet EXP system for more direct engagement round out this wheelset.

technologies

Tubeless
The Tubeless Ready rims from the DT Swiss range offer further advantages compared to traditional rims. Their cross-section design allows the tire to bead more easily during inflation, even with a standard floor pump. The elaborate profile of the DT Swiss rims also ensures a precise and secure fit of the tire even during aggressive driving.

Dicut
The Dicut line is a perfect combination of aerodynamics, technology and design. The Dicut hubs have a perfectly adapted geometry and the straight pull spokes offer the necessary stiffness. The high modulus brake tracks are attached with a heat-resistant resin to withstand high downhill temperatures.

Aero+
Aero+ technology was developed in collaboration with Swiss Side, DT Swiss' aerodynamic partner, to optimize the new ERC 1100 Dicut®. This describes the manufacturer's approach of constantly improving the wheels via numerous engineering techniques at each stage of development. Aero+ is based on three pillars: resistance, handling and efficiency.

  • Aerodynamic resistance: reducing the aerodynamic resistance of the wheel and, above all, of the complete system, is one of the three key points of Aero+ technology. CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamics) simulation and the Black Box process form the basis for the development of the prototype, which is then tested in the wind tunnel. Thanks to these processes it was possible to optimize the efficiency of the wheel with extremely low drag values (aerodynamic resistance) regardless of the lean angle and obtain balanced braking behaviour.
  • Handling : the complete bike represents only 25% of the overall resistance, the wheels still less than 8%, while the cyclist represents the remaining 75%. So, why is the wheel still important in this calculation? Being comfortable regardless of the situation is a decisive factor, because only then will you be able to maintain an aerodynamic position, which affects that 75%.
  • Efficiency : Comfort, traction and rolling resistance define efficiency. Wheels have a direct effect on how tires perform. These factors play a fundamental role in the Aero+ concept, wider rims - they support the tires better, which allows, in addition to remaining comfortable, greater control.

Ratchet Exp

  • Easy maintenance: DT Swiss hubs are also known for notool technology. DT Swiss has also found a way to further improve this system and make maintenance even easier, with a small modification of the end caps.
  • Freehub body conversion: Simplified thanks to easier disassembly.
  • Less weight: Not only the reliability is improved. The fusion of ratchet and threaded ring reduces the number of individual parts in the system, which offers an important advantage.
  • Less wear: A single cylindrical spring ensures faster and more complete engagement and therefore increases reliability
  • Superior reliability: Full engagement of the ratchets creates a large contact surface and therefore low surface pressure leading to superior reliability.
  • Longer bearing life: Integrating the bearing into the threaded ring allows you to maximize the bearing clearance. The increased distance further supports the axle, which leads to less deflection of the axle and thus protects the bearings and increases their life.
