SRAM has always been committed to providing riders with more component options to suit their riding style. It's clear that some riders' riding styles benefit from oval chainrings; that's why they designed the new X-SYNC™ 2 Oval chainring to give them the edge they expect. It is the only oval option available with the original X-SYNC™ 2 tooth profile and therefore the only oval chainring on the market that is fully optimized for Eagle™.
The bold new look and design of the X-SYNC 2 Eagle chainring is based on studies conducted by SRAM drivetrain engineers into the performance and wear characteristics of thousands of X-SYNC chainrings. They subjected all sizes of chainrings to countless environmental and mechanical stresses, mistreatment and neglect, both in the laboratory and in real situations, before creating a chainring that could increase the performance of the Eagle drivetrain in any condition. The particular shape of the teeth has been designed to adapt perfectly to the new Eagle chain, in order to increase chain retention and overall pedaling efficiency, reducing friction, noise and wear.
The X-SYNC 2 chainring design increases chain retention and durability by reducing friction and noise.
